Lavender Recipes
When it comes to cooking, all lavender is not created equal. French lavenders contain a higher camphor content than English lavender. (Camphor is great for a sachet or a bath product, but it’s far from a taste you want mixed with, say, your creme brulee!)
We’ve used culinary lavender for everything from creme brulee to scones to a lavender-infused gin and tonic (and Sweetgrass Winery’s Back River Gin, made up the road in Union, is our gin of choice!). Culinary lavender also mixes well with lemon thyme for a light vinagrette and can be used to flavor seafood in unexpected ways.
